Autostat says new car sales in Russia rise 23% to 160,600 March

MOSCOW, Apr 8 (PRIME) – Russia’s March new car sales grew by 22.7% on the year to 160,600 in March, according to agency Autostat released late on Tuesday.

Autostat based the figures on the number of newly registered cars.

"Russians preferred local brand Lada which occupies about 20% of the local market. 31,600 new cars of the brand were bought last month, which is 6.6% more than in March 2019," Autostat said.

The Association of European Businesses (AEB) earlier postponed publication of a March report on new car and light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales in Russia.
